Bowl Win and Soothsaying

Been a tough several weeks in Starkvegas with the sudden loss of Coach Leach. The loss focused our football nation on the life of a, no, the master of independent thinking on all matters and noted football offensive genius, as many who are qualified to evaluate those things have proclaimed.

What the loss revealed most importantly, was way more than offensive football, oft times camouflaged by off-the-wall comments or opinions, his intense ability to lead shone through in the respect given by peers and former players nationwide.  We knew we had a winning coach. We likewise knew, by all accounts, our coach was blessed with a winning personality and noteworthy intelligence that captured the eyes and hearts of the nation.

An attorney, author, historian, and an honorary PHD in curiosity. He will be long remembered.

His team carried out his final game plan and whipped the Illini. Not an easy game to watch and showed more defensive effort than offensive might. Considering the elevation of our defensive “whisperer”, maybe a preview of Maroon play to come.  Not unwelcome,  just different. Winning is wrapped lots of ways

If soothsaying was easy everybody would do it, but let’s give it a shot. Surprise, the Air Raid sirens will not be heard and another Will will not be Maroon, unless if of course, is of the A&M or other variety. We can’t count on happy endings in all things, ask the Pirate.  Sayer
