Isle of Eriska

The Isle of Eriska is a private island that is connected to the mainland by a one-lane bridge. It’s only business is the Isle of Eriska hotel. When we arrived here we were all taken back by the grandeur of the structure. Built in 1866, the hotel looks like a midieval castle.  After a wonderful dinner and nights rest, we struck out for Tuesday’s agenda.  We would find ourselves crossing the Atlantic Ocean twice once on a bridge and once on a ferry.

We returned to Eriska for medieval games, axe throwing,  archery  and shooting. Only have video of Pam shooting but she had a good shoot, killing two pigeons (clay) and getting a sore shoulder.

Our first ocean crossing was to the Isle of Seil  we crossed the island to get to the ferry that would take us to the Isle of Luing.

Luing is owned by one family and they have a cattle and sheep operation and also host exclusive hunts for red deer, pheasant and soon wild boar.  These pictures will tell the story better than I.

We had a lunch “warm up” at Luing Farm.
