This morning May 2, we left the Castle at Eriska lodging and began our.trip east to Edinburgh. We will stop three times to break up the three hour trip. Our first stop, just passed Glencoe, was Etive Bank Cottage,..
a very small town with major mountain views and an impressive hotel and restaurant that had a coffee and a pastry assortment already prepared for our stop. It soon became evident that the mountains in the area provided a steady flow of hikers and climbers who needed food and lodging.
We continued our trip and stopped for lunch in Crieff
Our last stop was a surprise. We stopped at a fly fishing lodge and had fly casting lessons and tried out our lessons on the lodges trout stocked ponds.
I’ve eaten most all food choices here in the UK but it will be a long time before I order haggis, meat pies, black pudding (blood sausage), or a number of additional English/Scottish dishes again. Talk tomorrow, Jim
